Jay Samit

President of ooVoo

Jay Samit is a leading technology pioneer with over 25 years experience in digital media. Prior to ooVoo, Samit was CEO of SocialVibe, the largest social media technology platform, reaching over 600 million consumers around the world each month for such major brands as Proctor & Gamble, Kraft, Nestle, Toyota, Pepsi, Microsoft, Visa, and Disney. Samit has held global senior management positions at Universal, EMI, and Sony. As Executive Vice President of Sony, Samit implemented a profitable global digital ecommerce strategy for Sony and built a new division from scratch — making Sony the #7 largest ecommerce site in the world. As Global President of Digital Distribution & Development for EMI, he broke new ground for the music industry launching digital businesses in over 30 countries. As Senior Vice President of Universal, Samit built one of the first on-line million member social networks in the 1990s and sat on the Studio’s overall steering committee. He received 2011 Pewter Owl for Social Media, the 2010 OMMA Award for Best Online Advertising, the first Gold Record for digital from the RIAA, won gold from the PMA for producing Sheryl Crow’s Concert in the Sky, and won Gavin Executive of the Year in 2000.

Tim Kring

Screenwriter & Television Producer

Tim Kring is an American screenwriter and television producer, best known for his creation of the drama series Strange World, Crossing Jordan, Heroes, and Touch.

He graduated from the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts in 1983. He got his start as a screenwriter writing for the TV show Knight Rider. One of his earlier projects was co-writer for an episode of Misfits of Science, which, like his later project Heroes, featured super-powered humans as a main theme. Another early project was Teen Wolf Too, co-written by Jeph Loeb. The two would later re-team when producing Heroes. Kring also co-wrote the 2010 book Shift: A Novel (Gates of Orpheus Trilogy) with Dale Peck.

Kring was an Emmy Award nominee in 2007 for Outstanding Drama Series as the producer for Heroes. He was also named one of the Masters of Sci Fi TV for his work on the series.

Liz Heller

CEO and Co-Founder of Buzztone Inc

As CEO and co-founder of Buzztone Inc Liz works to facilitate community building on behalf of brands in the cause, entertainment, media, and product industries. As chief visionary in charge of creative content, strategy, operations and funding her role on projects includes everything from shaping go-to-market brand and marketing strategy down to managing the details of technical execution. The most recent example of her influence in this arena includes her work on initiatives like the launch of the Stop Global Warming’s Virtual March. “Consumers today are sophisticated. They care about what they buy and they can fall in love with a product or a cause because of the story behind the brand. Our job is to bring that story to the surface in a way that resonates and builds engagement,” Heller says.

Buzztone’s success in telling brand stories has also resonated with clients like Microsoft, AOL, Sony Pictures and Bacardi.

Prior to founding Buzztone Heller served as Executive Vice President of Capital Records and led the charge in developing award winning websites such as and Liz also oversaw Capital’s soundtrack department, executive producing hit records such as Hope Floats, Good Will Hunting and There’s Something about Mary. Liz began her career as VP of Artist Development for MCA Records.

In additional to being one of the top event promoters in the game and a well sought after consultant Mr. Nelson has a background that includes artist development, artist management, label development, radio/retail promotion, financial advisory and general business development. Recently given the moniker “Hip Hop Credit Doctor” by Hip Hop Weekly magazine because of his commitment to financial literacy and leveraging Other People’s Money (OPM), he continues to reinvent himself and leverage the combination of his entertainment experience, strong industry relationships, and cultural exposure in order to make a difference while providing quality services and mentoring to others.
